Spring Water Feature Maintenance

A properly built water feature is designed to run year-round. But even when it stays on through the winter, it doesn’t come out of the season untouched.
Organic debris settles
in. Fine sediment builds up. Pumps and filtration systems continue working, but not always at peak efficiency. As temperatures rise, those underlying issues start to show—reduced clarity, slower flow, and early algae growth.
Spring is the time to correct that.
A professional clean-out removes accumulated debris, resets the system, and restores proper circulation. Pumps are cleaned and inspected. Filtration is cleared. Water flow is adjusted back to optimal performance.
The goal isn’t just to make the water look better—it’s to bring the entire system back to the level it was designed to operate at.
When this step is skipped or delayed, small issues compound. Water quality declines, components work harder than they should, and the feature gradually loses the clean, polished look it’s meant to have.
Done properly, spring maintenance sets the tone for the entire season—clean water, consistent flow, and a feature that performs reliably without constant attention.
If your water feature needs to be cleaned, serviced, or brought back to proper condition, spring is the right time to handle it.
